CONSES WORKS ON ECOLOGICAL TOILETS TO PROVIDE WASTEWATER SAFETY AND HELP PEOPLE HAVING BETTER LIFE CONDITIONS IN COCHABAMBA (BOLIVIA).

A lot of shit in this world should be better, but “shit” is literally something that has to be better for families living in poverty. Without adequate bathroom facilities, it can cause disease.

  • Only 40% of Cochabamba, Bolivia have wastewater system

  • 70% of the people (particularly the children) in the periurbano region of Cochabamba are constantly ill because of a lack of sanitation services
  • 6% of the children born die before the age of 5

In the periurbano areas of Cochabamba, which are the areas outside of the city, people live in communities of extreme poverty with little to no sanitation. Water trucks come every weeks to deliver water, but the cost is 5 times more expensive than in other parts of Cochabamba and the water is not treated properly.

Hundreds of waterborne diseases such as e-coli, Cholera, and typhoid can be avoided directly with proper water management and sanitation practices. CONSES means to change this, not only in Cochabamba but in all of Bolivia. CONSES wants to provide the tools necessary to live a sanitary life.
